Dropped by last weekend for a baby's one-month celebration. The host and staff were super friendly and accommodating. We had a few guests arriving late, but they didn’t mind waiting a little before kicking things off. They checked on our tables and guests consistently, which was nice.
The food was pretty good—not the best I’ve had, but it was definitely filling. My favorite dish was the lobster lo mein; lots of noodles, and not as greasy compared to other places, although it got a bit saltier as I ate more. The sweet and sour pork was amazing—big, crispy pieces of meat that were still tender inside! The steamed freshwater shrimp was perfect—I'm a huge shrimp lover, and they nailed it. The Hong choi had a nice touch with some chili peppers, adding a bit of heat that I really enjoyed.
Despite it being a Saturday, the rest of the restaurant wasn’t too busy. It was a foggy, misty evening, which gave a cozy vibe. It wasn’t noisy at all, so I was able to have great conversations and share laughs.
As for parking—if you know this plaza, you know it’s a real hassle! Luckily, I caught someone leaving their spot right in front, so I managed to park easily. If the lot’s full, there’s always plenty of street parking. I’ve parked in the nearby residential area a few times too, which honestly feels like the best option.

Dim Sum King was one of the few spots nearby that was still open for dim sum after 3 pm, which was a huge plus. It’s located in the Skyline Plaza Shopping Center, so finding parking was easy and convenient. The atmosphere inside was pleasant and had a cozy feel to it.
Ordering was simple—you mark your choices on the menu using a pen, and a staff member submits the order to the kitchen for you. However, one thing I found a bit inconvenient was that the menu didn’t show the prices clearly, so I wasn’t sure how much each item cost.
I ended up ordering a variety of dishes: 1) Steamed Pork Dumplings, 2) Pan Fried Turnip Cake, 3) Shanghai Dumplings, 4) Taro Seafood and Meat Dumplings, and 5) some other dumplings. Overall, the food tasted fresh and was quite good. The portions were generous, and each plate could easily serve two people. Despite not knowing the exact prices, the total cost seemed fair for the amount of food we got.
Service was alright—nothing spectacular, but nothing to complain about either. I had no issue asking for extra sauces, utensils, or water when needed, but it would’ve been nicer if the staff checked in on the table proactively or refilled our drinks without needing a prompt. After placing the order, they took the menu, but didn’t come back to ask if we needed anything else, which would have made the experience a bit more attentive. Nonetheless, I managed fine just by asking directly

We visited with a group of five adults and two kids. My dad went all out and ordered a variety of dishes. Honestly, nothing was disappointing, but I’ll focus on what the kids enjoyed the most so I remember for our next visit.
The pan-fried noodles with seafood were a big hit. The kids loved the crispy texture of the noodles, so it’s definitely something we’ll order again.
Scallion pancakes were another favorite. The kids devoured them so quickly that we ended up asking for a second plate.
The Peking Duck was amazing—the skin was perfectly crispy, and the meat was tender and juicy. I enjoyed it a lot, and the kids loved the buns that came with it, even taking some from the rest of us!
The shrimp dumplings were fantastic, and I also really liked the tripe. We wrapped up the meal with egg tarts, which are a must-have for us every time.
The restaurant is spacious, so finding a table at 1 p.m. on a Sunday was no problem at all. The kids were entertained by watching the crabs in the tank, which was a nice touch. The only downside is that the parking lot can get pretty crowded, so we had to park a bit further away. I’ve also heard about break-ins in the lot, so it’s wise not to leave any valuables in the car

Dim Sum King has become my go-to spot for dim sum in Daly City. The flavors remind me so much of the dim sum I had growing up in Hong Kong—authentic, fresh, and absolutely delicious. The BBQ pork buns are a must-try, with a perfect balance of crispy crust and savory filling. Plus, I appreciate the quick service and the fact that they offer vegan options for my friends. Highly recommended for anyone who loves true Hong Kong flavors!
